Free calculator
Count calendar days between two dates with full weeks, weekdays, weekend days and an inclusive option.
Your dates and calculated results stay in this browser tab and are not included in analytics events.
Enter two valid calendar dates and choose whether the end date should be included in the count.
Transparent method
Exclusive total = the absolute calendar-day distance. Inclusive mode adds the ending calendar date, including one day when both dates are the same. Full weeks are total days divided by seven with the remainder shown separately.
Exclusive counting measures date boundaries and excludes the end date. Inclusive counting adds the end date, so the same start and end date counts as one day when inclusion is selected.
Leap days are counted automatically when February 29 falls inside the range. Reversed dates show the same absolute duration with a clear note that the end date is earlier.
The calculator divides the calendar-day total into complete seven-day weeks and remaining days. It does not approximate months or years because their lengths vary.
Weekdays are Monday through Friday; weekend days are Saturday and Sunday. This is calendar classification only, not a public-holiday or business-day calculation.
If the start date is in A1 and the end date is in B1, =B1-A1 returns an exclusive signed day difference when both cells contain valid spreadsheet dates. Add one only when your intended method includes the end date.
Common uses include counting days until a future date, days since a past date, project spans and calendar windows. Confirm whether the task expects inclusive or exclusive counting before sharing the result.
Enter the start and end dates. The primary result shows the absolute calendar-day duration and explains the date order.
Not by default. Select Include the end date to add it; the counting method is displayed with the result.
February 29 counts as a normal calendar day whenever it falls within the selected interval.
The calculator displays the absolute duration and clearly states that the end date is before the start date.
The result counts Monday through Friday using the selected inclusive or exclusive method and reports Saturday and Sunday separately.
